Okay, But I Can Still Burn the Canadian Flag, Right?

The morons over in the House of Representatives have once again approved a freaking constitutional amendment to prohibit flag-burning. In the past 16 years, the amendment has failed to pass in the Senate, but now it looks like we've elected enough idiots there, too. Of course, they need a two-thirds majority vote, but I have a feeling this will be less contentious than the Bolton debate.

I liked the comment by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D) of New York: "If the flag needs protection at all, it needs protection from members of Congress who value the symbol more than the freedoms that the flag represents."

My God, we've lost more than 1,700 kids in Iraq, and Congress decides to spend its time holding hearings on steroid use in baseball and keeping the damn hippies from committing the unpardonable sin of unpatriotism.

At least there's some good news from Ohio, where the Republican party is starting to look as crooked as Daley's administration.
